Mindful Pottery Retreat at UDUMBARA Pottery Studio ** Overview: ** Duration: Weekend retreat (Sunday &Monday). Group Size: Limited to 6 participants. Experience: You don't need any prior pottery experience. Languages: English (Suomi, Svenska). ** Schedule: ** Day 1: 10 AM - 5 PM Day 2: 10 AM - 3 PM ** Highlights: ** Begin and end with 30-minute silent tea meditation sessions. Learn pottery techniques from Eva Spoof, an experienced professional artisan ceramist and keen meditator. Day 1. focuses on the pottery wheel, and Day 2. on trimming and decoration (stamping and engraving). We produce unglazed planter pots, also the primary products of UDUMBARA pottery. Craft with Kultela wild clay, embodying 100% transparency, local sourcing, and a touch of Finland. Our studio operates on solar energy, promoting sustainability.
** What's Included: **
All materials for practicing include up to 20 kg of Kultela clay. Guidance and firing of up to four planters (max 8 kg raw clay). POTLUCK lunch: Salad + bread provided; bring a delicacy to share.

** Cancellation Policy: ** By You: – If you provide more than two weeks' notice, you will receive a refund minus a €30 admin/bank fee. – Two weeks to five working days notice Voucher for another workshop minus €25 admin fee. - Less than five working days notice: Non-refundable (50% refund with valid medical certificate). By Us: Reschedule or full refund unless due to national emergencies.

**Good to Know: ** Wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty; Kultela clay can stain. Long/artificial nails can be problematic. Patience is key in pottery; beginners might face challenges.
The Journey of "Slow Design": At UDUMBARA, we believe in the concept of "slow design." Our pottery kiln is fired every 4 to 6 weeks, emphasizing the time and patience required when working with natural clay. We'll notify you when your planter pots are ready for pickup or shipment.
Unclaimed pottery after four months is disposed of, repurposed, or sold for a donation to the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation. Shipping is available at an additional cost.
