Osaamme myös suomea, tervetuloa. Vi talar också svenska, välkommen.

At UDUMBARA pottery(est. 1994), you are submerged in a real pottery atelier with an experienced potter (Eva Spoof). Everyone takes a turn with Eva, and everyone has their wheel to work on. Class size is limited and will is filled on a first-come,first-served basis.

Like piano playing, the pottery wheel takes time and patience to master, and beginners may become frustrated early on. The pottery wheel and ceramics studio, in general, can be a dirty, messy place. No matter what precautions you take, you will end up with clay on your clothes and shoes.

We will wedge and prepare you plenty of clay to practice on. At the end of the workshop, you choose two planters to be trimmed, cleaned and fired for you. You should challenge yourself to take time to learn a skill and to think about your values and sustainability as a maker.”

Learning a skill and working with your hands and wild clay brings mindfulness and comfort to your life,” at Udumbara studio, we are teeming with international professionals who are looking to de-stress, unplug, and socialize; with others.”

Working at the studio with local Kultela clay is “slow design,” The studio’s big pottery kiln is only fired a few times per season. It takes time and patient when working with wild clay. We will inform you when planter pots are ready, so please be patient.

We will be happy to send your products to your home; this will be charged postage-free. Or, if you choose not to keep your fist wonky tries, you are welcome to adopt one UDUMBARA size 3 planter pot to have as a memory of your experience at the pottery.

When you make pottery with Kultela clay, you dont just get a planter pot; you will also get a real piece of Finland 🇫🇮 , 100% local raw material.
We use solar choice energy at our studio and kiln to reduce the high carbon footprint in pottery making.
