Bothnian Rhapsody for Finnish/International Brass Septet (duration ca. 4´30´´) Finnish Brass Septet: -Eb cornet, two Bb cornets, an Eb alto horn, a Bb tenor horn, a Bb baritone and an Eb tuba. -International Brass Septet: two Bb cornets/trumpets, two french horns,two trombones (euphoniums) and a tuba. Bothnian Rhapsody was commissioned by the Finnish Pohjanmaa (Bothnian) Military Band for their 50th anniversary in 2003. Being myself of ethnic Ostrobothnian descent, I was so thrilled that the Rhapsody was finished a year in advance. Listeners may recognise some of the Finnish folk- song allusions.
