[In English, see below] Syksyllä 2022 yhdysvaltalainen taiteilija A. Coffin rupesi punomaan pudonneista oksista majaa metsään Helsingin Rastilassa. Hän alkoi käyttää rakennelmasta sanaa ”chamber”. Se on pysynyt metsässä siitä lähtien. Kammio alkoi synnyttää omanlaistaan ajattelua ja toimintaa. Coffin teki muistiinpanoja ja kutsui kammioonsa vieraita. Syntyneestä aineistosta Coffin on nyt koonnut laajan kirjallis-kuvataiteellisen työn nimeltä Silence Chamber. Teos on eräänlainen opas keskittyneempään olemiseen tämän planeetan pinnalla. Silence Chamber tunnustelee taiteen ja elämän rajaa. Teos koostuu seitsemästä käsin sidotusta vihkosta ja johdantona toimivasta kaksitaitteesta. Teos on kokonaan englanninkielinen. Kirjamuotoilu A. Coffin ja Antti Nylén. Painotyöt Bokeh. Numeroitu editio 200 kpl. 19 x 23 cm, yht. n. 300 s. The book is written by hand and includes pencil sketches, conveying the slow, primal, tactile process of inscription through mark-making. It is composed of 5 primary booklets that touch on themes such as relationship with forest, spirituality, perception, darkness, silence as holding space, and sensory embodied inscription. In addition to the logbook narratives and poetic texts, an additional booklet is a guide to rituals and practices that the reader can use to engage their local forest. A. Coffin is an interdisciplinary artist from the USA, based in Helsinki, Finland. Her work includes writing, spoken word, performance, moving image, and site-responsive structures. She collaborates with animate materials from the land to create primal structures for the body to remerge and be in dialogue with the earth and Spirit. Her practice is grounded in attention, silence, and sensory embodied engagement. A NOTE FOR CUSTOMERS IN THE USA: There has been problems with shipping items to the US.
