Product description

On the Forest Gardening & Nut Growing course you'll learn with expert and author Joel Rosenberg – and meet other garden and nut enthusiasts. This is the second time we offer this course fully in English.

The course day begins with a lecture about forest gardens (principles, structure and plants) and nut growing (possibilities in the northern climate and species). After the lecture we'll tour the site and it's 15 year old forest garden and nut growing trials.

During the day you’ll gain knowledge about different tree crops, shrubs, perennials and ground covers – and hear about the successes and mistakes made. We'll do a practical design exercise in small groups that will help you start designing your own forest garden or nut orchard. Advice on plant propagation is offered also.

The course venue has about 160+ nut trees/bushes (eg. walnuts, hazelnut cultivars), about half of them are in production age. Some specialties in the forest garden are white mulberries, apricots, cornelian cherries etc.

The course fee 89 € includes vat (25,5%), a vegetarian lunch with a salad made from our forest garden's harvest, coffee & tea. After the course there is a possibility to buy forest garden plants for your own garden.

The course starts at 11 am and ends at 5.30 pm.

Please download the driving instructions to Salmenrannan tila (Laitila, Varsinais-Suomi) after the payment.
