Native Americans throughout the Amazon basin have long used the seeds and nuts of a variety of trees and plants make necklaces, bracelets and other jewelry. This offering is for seeds from an Amazonian plant (Sapindus sapanaria), called choloque in Peru, hand-drilled by Peruvian crafts people. Their color varies from deep purple to jet black. They are roughly spherical, with diameters from 10-15 mm. The holes are small, 1 mm or less in diameter.
