Four miniatures is a suite for brass septet. It’s short, characteristic parts are glimpses of the Nivala landscape, perhaps even of the mindset of that area. In the background, there are both historical events and personal experiences. Each part has its own emotional atmosphere, and in addition, there is some pedagogical idea related to harmony, rhythm, or phrasing.
