These pickups have handcrafted "old school" fiber bobbins to get enough space for the thick wire gauge. Instead, the limited amount of turns is balanced with powerful Ceramic magnets. It creates a sound that you might call "fat" and "juicy" - or something like that... A small detail are the black hex coil screws and the very rough unplated nickel cover. A sort of mix between contemporary and "vintage" look.

HMS-guitars ”ScaT-RoLL” handwound pickups
These pickups are all open sounding, clear, musical and make a perfect fit on every HMS electric guitar. The "Scat-RoLL" pickups are definitely handmade - scatterwound with an electric winding machine - or if you're a real player you can order it hand cranked with a manpowered machine.
I make mostly humbuckers and P-90 or P-94 style pickups - but classic Tele- and Strato- pickups are also available. My pickups come mostly dressed in Nickel covers, many are Unplated Nickel (raw) but Golden, Chrome etc are also available on request - obviously the customers choice comes first. If you can't find what you're looking for in the shop, send me a message and will try to find a solution how to get hold of a perfect pickup for your need. My parts supply is somewhat limited so if you're in need of something more exotic, it might extend the building time - but only a week or two.
These pickups are installed on my handmade electric guitars but if you’re really keen to get your hands on one of these exquisite pickups and their unique sound, it’s certainly no big deal installing them on your guitar too. You can most certainly do it yourself or have a guitar tech or service do it for you.
But, check out the ones I have in stock - you might run into something interesting...
