Forest Gardening & Nut Growing course 7.6.2025 (Laitila)

On the Forest Gardening & Nut Growing course you'll learn with expert and author Joel Rosenberg – and meet other garden and nut enthusiasts. The course will be entirely in English.

The course begins with a two compact lectures about forest gardens (principles, structure and plants) and nut growing (possibilities in the Finnish climate and species).

After the lecture we'll tour the site and it's 15 year old forest garden and nut growing trial site. You’ll gain knowledge about different tree crops, shrubs, perennials and ground covers – and hear about the successes and mistakes made. We'll also do practical design exercise in small groups that help you start designing your own forest garden or nut orchard. Advice on plant propagation is offered also.

The course includes a vegetarian lunch with a salad made from our forest garden's harvest. Coffee & tea included. After the course there is a possibility to buy nut plants for your own forest garden. or nut orchard

The course starts at 11 am and ends at 5.30 pm.
