    There are abundant superfoods growing wild and free in the forests near the Helsinki Capital Region! I warmly invite you to explore Finnish wild herbs and vegetables. During this foraging adventure, we will visit the beautiful northern nature around Helsinki and learn to identify the most common and delicious wild foods. Participants will also discover how to use wild herbs in cooking, and after the workshop, receive a handout by email covering the most common wild herbs. In addition, you’ll hear fascinating plant stories, including their nutritional values, folklore, mysteries, and history. Typically, we cover a minimum of 15 edible wild plants. Please bring your own basket if you have one, or you can use paper bags provided by the guide. If you wish to take notes, bring a notebook and pen. The foraging adventure is led by licensed wild food guide, herbalist, and biologist Anna Nyman. Participants will also receive an e-book about wild herbs in Finland by email after the workshop.     Do you already know how to use common wild herbs like dandelion, nettle and fireweed, and want to learn more? Maybe you have you already attended one of my foraging walks? If you say yes, then this foraging walk is for you! In this advanced course, we try to find plants such as common horsetail, St. john's wort, pinappleweed, oxeye daisy, burdocks and valerian. In addition, you'll learn about herbal medicine and we will also take a closer look at plant morphology to make it easier to identify new plants. You'll learn about 10-20 plants, depending on the group's level of expertise. After the foraging walk, participants will receive a pdf about the plants in their email.     In midsummer, the landscape becomes enchanted with wildflowers in bloom and the intoxicating scents of summer all around. Some plants are only beginning to thrive in the warmth of the summer heat, while others are already producing their aromatic seeds. Plants can be used in all stages of their growth for different purposes. During this workshop, you will learn how to identify wild plants, their flowers and seeds, and how to use them as spices, teas, and herbal remedies. The course will help you build a small home herbal apothecary to support your wellbeing and for the internal and external self-care of minor ailments. You will also enrich your spice cabinet and learn versatile ways to use wild herbs in teas. Around 15 plants will be introduced during the course. The course is suitable both for beginners and for those who already have some experience with wild herbs. At the end of the course, we will also prepare a small herbal extract for you to take home.
