Siitakepalikka, joka on valmis tuottamaan satoa. Sienilpalikat ovat helpoin tapa aloittaa sienien kasvattaminen kotona. Tällä setillä keräät tuoreita siitakesieniä parissa viikossa. Sienipalikamme valmistetaan Suomessa koivuhakkeesta. Jos et halua sienten alkavan kasvaa pian, voit säilyttää palikkaa jääkaapissa 2-3 kk. Lue sienipalikan tarkat ohjeet [täältä].

1. Poista muovi palikasta.
2. Laita palikka lautaselle tai laatikkoon ja lisää pohjalle 1 cm kylmää vettä. Laita palikkaa viileässä (5-17C) varjoisassa paikassa, kuten parvekkeella. Voit tehdä sienten kasvulle otollisen kostean pienoiskasvihuone esimerkiksi paperi- tai muovipussista.
3. Suihkuta puhdasta vettä pussin sisäseinille muutaman kerran päivässä. On tärkeää, että raikasta ilmaa pääsee pussiin vapaasti.
4. Kerää sienet noin 5 päivän ikäisinä, palikan läheltä.
5. Aseta se 5 viikon kuluttua uudelleen viileään ja kosteaan ympäristöön ja aloita huurtuminen päivittäin. VINKKI: voit myös istuttaa sen puutarhaasi ja odottaa toista satoa tai tehdä siitä [sienitoteemin]!

A block of Shiitake substrate which is ready to give up to 400g of mushrooms. Mushroom blocks are the easiest way to start growing mushrooms at home. With this set you will harvest fresh shiitake mushrooms in a couple of weeks. After harvesting, you can plant it in your garden and wait for a second harvest or make a mushroom totem with it! Our mushroom blocks are made in Finland with a substrate of birch wood chips. If you do not wish to start to grow the mushrooms right away, you can store it in the fridge for 2-3 months. Remove the plastic from the block. Put the block on a plate or tray with 1 cm of cold water. Place in a cool (5-17C) and shaded place, for example the balcony. If you have a mini-greenhouse you can put it in there to maintain a high humidity. You can also make one yourself by loosely placing a big paper or plastic bag with a few holes over it. Mist with water at least twice per day. Make sure to ventilate it often. Harvest when the mushrooms are about 5 days old, cutting close to the block. After 5 weeks place it again in a cool and moist environment and start misting it daily. TIP: you can also plant it in your garden and wait for the second harvest or make a [mushroom totem] with it!
