Leadership and Communication 13.3.2025 - Finland

Leadership and Communication in the AD's Department in collaboration with Blockbusters Gang 13.3.2025 from 9:00 to 17:00 - Sörnäinen, Helsinki, Finland Day looking into team leading in film. Going through theories of leadership, reflecting to film hierarchy and giving tools of conflict management and communication in larger scale projects. We're focusing on individuals power and possibilities on creating a well functioning team in a hectic environment. This course is created based on a 1 week program of team leading held in Frans Schartaus Business Institute in early 2023 and 2024 and workshop held with FOCAL in February 2024. Content of the course forms around 4 main subjects: forming a well-functioning team tones of communication navigating through difficult discussions tools for conflict management Though these subjects are looked through an AD’s eyes we’re welcoming people from all departments to join the workshop. Our aim is to create space for self-reflection, testing of the tools and discussion of leadership and communication in film. Teacher: Course is held by our 1st AD Iiris Orasmaa. Soon 20 years in the industry Iiris has worked on 9 countries, with 35+ nationalities and is teaching regularly in Aalto University – besides having lectured in eg. Frans Schartaus Business Institute in Stockholm, Greenwich University in London and Academy of Moving People and Images in Helsinki. Iiris has paid a lot of focus on educating herself on team leading through the years eg. by recently completing EPI’s Audiovisual Women leadership education of 6 months. Participation: Course is open to anyone interested in the subject and best suits those who’ve either worked or look forward to work on management positions in the future. Course is open only to participants joining live in Helsinki. Our teaching language will be determined by the participants – please choose your preference when signing up!
