Potter’s wheel 1 - basics course for one (open schedule)

On this course 4,5 hours course you will learn to understand the very basics of throwing on potter's wheel: an understanding of choosing the right kind of clay, wedging, throwing and trimming. The course is separated into a 3 hour class during which we do all the "muddy stuff" and into a 1,5 hour class during which we trim the bottoms of the made pieces. The aim of the course is to make 1-2 pieces ready to be fired and glazed by the teacher, Pauliina. The aim is to gain skills that allow independent training or proceeding the next skill level course. If you get super excited about pottery making, you're welcome to also attend a glazing class that opens an access to practice independently at Atlejee Artelli (20 €/day) without long term commitment. The course is held at Ateljee Artelli, Saimaankatu 33 in the centre of Lahti. Please email pauliina@dreijahuone.fi within three months from the purchase to set the course dates. Note that: - it is prefrable to take working clothes (= something that is ok to get a bit messy), optionally an apron and a hand towel - the course has to be canceled 24 h in advance to get a refund, I however am more than happy to find a new date with you
