Folk music stars from across Finland draw inspiration from, and make visible, the various Nordic species and biotopes via folk music. "Nouse luonto" is a fragment of an old magical spell, summoning courage and grit, but in the original Finnish, "luonto" is also the word for nature. Each band or artist has composed or arranged a traditional song around this theme. Almost all the songs have been composed for this album. The artists also collaborate with each other. The album features songs in Finnish, Swedish, Northern Sami and the Romani language. They have been recorded in various parts of the country, from Helsinki to Nuorgam. The album ends on a high note with all the artists performing a song together.
