Mushrooms are rising up with full power and it is time to get to know more of them!

Welcome onto a basic course for you who wants to know more about edible mushrooms in Finland and how to recognize, pick and use them. In this field trip you´ll learn more about the delicious culinary treasures of the nearby forests and your mushroom-hawk-eye will definitely sharpen. Expect to be surprised how exotic mushrooms of the forest can be! This is the second English speaking tour and by joining the both tours will give you the needed repetition to increase confidence with identification. After these tours you will definitely have increased your mushroom identification skill! Here is the first tour on 1.9. at Hervantajärvi

We will focus on edible mushrooms and their look-a-likes and to the ones you should be aware of: the toxic species.

The forests in the area are mainly fresh deciduous forests but also cliff areas where we can find different habitats for mushrooms to grow. The area has lot of trees such as aspen, spruce, birch and pine, with whom many mushroom species like to grow in symbiosis. We can expect to find different boletes, russulas, milk caps, gypsy mushrooms and funnel chanterelles. The forest area is pretty large and abundant. Welcome to meet delicious and interesting edible mushrooms to be picked up :)

We will also walk outside the paths and therefore it is essential to leave the forest unharmed and with respect to the wildlife.
