TIMETABLE

About the Concept? We create Cypher of Souls -concept in the dancefloor with awesome djs Leroy Rey(Holland), Groovefella (Portugal) and State of Souls Collective djs’.

Cypher rounds with music that has been collected internationally with a years of experience, taste and passion! The cypher rounds are easy to participate: Just buy ticket and you are in. State of Souls Stars invite for the 30 minutes cyphers and open dancefloor dancers who suit best for the minibattle theme. If you accept invite you are in the battle.

The main focus is the sharing the love of dancing and the music, in addition to that the three cypher rounds are simultaneously going. House dance history has been telling stories, exchanging emotions through social dancing. You can dance with your friend or solo in or out from the cyphers.

What is Cypher? The cultural roots of Cypher (Cipher) is in hip hop culture and before that in the African tradition. It is a sacred place where you can feel safe under loving eyes, where you can express yourself and share your dance. It is a safe place to become visible with your dance and your soul.

So when you stand in edge of circle, be the support and encouragement for the dancer in the middle. Hold a safe space for the dancer, open your heart and give them your gentle gaze. If you want to talk, check your phone or drink&eat etc. do it outside the circle.

If you are dancing in the middle, you can invite another dancer into the circle to dance with you. House dance is a social dance, so challenging each other is not a way to support each other in the ring.

Keep the energy of cyphers up and encourage the next dancer in the middle as you leave the middle and stay on the edge of the ring.

The atmosphere is unique to each cypher, so check the atmosphere first before you rush in. There may be a conversation going on with two or three dancers even if not all of them are in the middle at that moment, so first stand at the edge of the circle to sense and listen to the conversation and join in the conversation.

If there is a cypher competition going on and there are judges, remember that those on the edges support each dancer in the middle of the circle. In a cypher competition, each dancer is the winner if they choose to open their dance and their soul in the middle of the circle.

What is battle? There will be three different minibattles at different themes which are carefully selected from housedance and music field. There will be different kind of forms of battle like crew battle, showcase battle, one to one battle.

Battles have become part of street and club dance competitions through break dancing, where even in the early days of the cyphers dancers challenged others to compete for the best moves and dancing skills.

There are judges (State of Souls Stars) in the battle. There are usually three of them. They watch the dancers through the battle concept and decide the winner of the battle by pointing with their hand to the side they feel is the winner. Crossed hands mean that the judge thinks the battle was a tie. If the total count of hands means tie, dancers have to do one more extra round.
