Sari Soininen (b.1991) is an internationally recognised Finnish photographer. Her colorful otherworldly photography draws from philosophical thoughts and personal mystical experiences. Her interest is in providing the viewer with alternative ways of seeing the reality and world around them.

In her early twenties, Sari experimented with LSD regularly and excessively. She eventually experienced an extended psychotic episode, which had serious consequences on her own life. During this time, she abandoned all her worldly possessions. Sari confronted demons and observed wonders. Transcendent Country of the Mind represents this new perspective. They explore perceptions of otherworldly signs around us. The images tell the story of a world that lives at the back of our minds.

Sari holds a BA in photography from Lahti Institute of Design (2014), and is currently studying MA Photography at UWE Bristol (2021). Sari is an emerging artist with her latest work shortlisted for British Photography Awards. In 2021, she was exhibited at the Nordic Village at Helsinki Photo Festival and Copenhagen Photo Festival. She was featured in FT Weekend Magazine, Helsingin Sanomat and Libération Magazine.

Sari has limited edition works in private collections in Finland, the United States, Canada, Japan, Sweden, Denmark and the United Kingdom.

Sari Soininen first solo exhibition in Finland, Mindscapes, presents some of her most significant seriesto date, including Transcendent Country of Mind and The Black Cat Kingdom. The exhibition also includes works from Soininen’s new series of works Shallow Waters, Misty Waves.
