Using some of his award-winning photo reportages as examples, Swiss award-winning photographer Christian Bobst will explain how to create images and visual stories that have the power to stand out from the daily flood of images. He will then lead workshop participants through practical exercises on editing picture stories.

In the first part of the workshop, Christian will give tangible advice on photographic practice in photojournalism. He will show how to achieve that light, composition and content are condensed into a concise image at a decisive moment. He also gives practical tips on planning and research.

The second part of the workshop is about how to create a series of images that tell a story in a compelling way. A good edit makes a crucial difference in every picture story, portfolio and award submission. Christian will go into depth on editing photo stories and will lead workshop participants through practical exercises for selecting and sequencing image series.

Participants will be able to edit their own image series or will be assigned image series, depending on their preference (please register your preference in advance by e-mail: mail@christianbobst.com).
