LISA PRAM "Gentle" (2020). Edition: 30+2 AP. Signed and numbered. Certificate of Authenticity included. Hahnemühle Rag 308 g. Available in 2 sizes.

Uncertainty & Possibility is an attempt to imagine and re-build our identity as a family, regardless of the sudden hardship that follows the irrecoverable loss of genetic material.

Lisa Pram's eldest daughter is challenged by a rare syndrome, 5P-. During conception, a piece of information of the short arm of her chromosome 5 went missing. This chromosomal condition is characterized by intellectual disability and delayed development.

By deploying a visual and pictorial vocabulary around Lisa's own family, she breaks down the symbols traditionally associated with maternity and loss. She builds images and scenarios that can be mental (caring, loving, perception, learning, reasoning and problem solving), but also physical (shelter, home, tools, mass and weight). Throughout the images, Lisa shares her doubts, states of mind and vulnerability and she tries to enhance the huge importance imagination plays in giving meaning to life. She wonders about the universe and creation (as in artistic creation, but also in biological terms) and she wonders about the many unlikely events (or errors) that needed to unfold in order for life to evolve and survive on Earth.

The images of Uncertainty & Possibility series play a fundamental role in her intimate story; they describe the magical, unveil the vanished and explore balance (also when it is fragile). Lisa learns to embrace the many possibilities uncertainty may bring.

The work "Gentle" belongs to this series which comprises 58 photographs and was created between 2018-2022.

Born in the tiny island of Langeland and raised between Denmark and Spain, Lisa Pram is a photographer and multi-artist currently based in Barcelona. Her artistic practice delves between photography, sculpture and painting, and she inquires into the very materials she works with. Light, color, texture and reflections embody her persistent quest to find beauty in friction, sometimes opposites and even in uncertainty.

Lisa Pram balances between art, film and literature since 2001. Curiosity and constant experimentation keeps her moving forward.
