Kayaking basic course in Helsinki, following the official Meloja 1 - structure from SMSL (canoe union of Finland).

Learn the basics of safe kayaking and discover a new hobby for yourself! This three evenings course is held in Helsinki Vanha Kaupunki, just 15min bus drive from center in a beautiful nature area. The course is held partly on river and partly on the baltic sea. If the weather conditions are too difficult for sea kayaking all days will be hold in the river Vantaanjoki.

You will get basic idea of kayaks, kayaking techniques, safety matters, buddy rescue and a lot more! You will also get the official SMSL Meloja 1 digital certificate that is a requirement for most of the kayaking clubs in Finland.

Halla Outdoors does kayaking lessons in high level and focuses a lot in safety issues, both physical, mental and social. The structure of the course has been build up to its formation through dozens of courses held by the coach in the baltic sea and the lakes of Finland. We take bride in our profession and want to give you the best possible start for your hopefully new hobby. We have good quality equipment in the course.

When and where: The course will be held in Helsinki Vanhakaupunki starting from either below the white water or above it. 9.-11.8: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 17:00-20:30

The price includes: - Kayaks and necessary gear - Coaching - Use of a dry bag for the day - Digital Meloja 1 (paddler 1) certificate

The course is held with max. 8 persons. The people attending the course has to be at least 15 years old and they have to know how to swim.

Halla Outdoors has the right to cancel the course in case of Force Majoure or if there are less than 6 people attending the course. If the course is canceled by Halla Outdoors, all the appliers will get full refund. In the case of sickness or other unstoppable event the customer will have full refund, if the customer can show a prove of the event, for example a medical certificate if the customer cancels the course before hand. In other cases Halla Outdoors has the right to decline for refund.
