Nykyreivit ovat yhdistelmä reivejä, tanssituntia ja tietoisuutta tanssimassa ympäri seiniä. Se on reivit tanssistudiossa. Se on suostumuksellista kosketusta, kaupungin paras tanssilattia ja reivit sun 30 parhaalle kaverille, joita et vielä tunne.

Illalle on muodostettu tarkka rakenne, mutta voit saapua paikalle koska tahansa. Toki ilta on suunniteltu myös kokonaisuudeksi, joten eniten saat siitä irti matkatessasi sen läpi kokonaisuudessaan. Jos saavut myöhemmin niin huomioi, että illan alku on hyvin herkkävireinen, joten kunnioita muiden kokemusta saapuessasi.

20.30 – 21 Saapuminen tilaan. Siteiden valinta silmille. Oma virittäytyminen ennen yhteistä aloitusta.

P I M E Y S

21 – 22.30 Tanssi silmät sidottuina. Soitamme musiikkia alun hiljaisen virittäytymisen jälkeen. Tämä virittää herkkään kuunteluun niin muiden liikkeen, kosketuksen kuin musiikinkin suhteen.

V A L O

22.30 – 24 Tanssi silmät avoinna. Toinen yhteinen virittäytyminen kohti energian nousua. dj-setti nostaa energian myös tavallisia dj jameja korkeammalle.

U U S I M A A I L M A

00 – 00.30 Tiputtelua tilassa ilman musiikkia. Tilasta ei ole kiire pois.

Ilta perustuu lempeisiin somaattisiin harjoituksiin, kontakti-improvisaatioon, musiikin kokonaisvaltaiseen kokemiseen ja aivojen tanssimiseen pellolle turvallisemmassa tilassa. Sinulla ei tarvitse olla kokemusta tanssista, kontakti-improvisaatiosta tai oikeastaan yhtään mistään osallistuaksesi. Sinun tulee kuitenkin lukea turvallisemman tilan säännöt tämän kuvauksen lopusta ja noudattaa niitä.

DJ & VETÄJÄ

Samee Haapa on näyttelijä FIA, tanssija ja dj, jolla on takanaan 20 vuoden ura sekä vaihtoehtoisten klubien ja reivien järjestämisestä että radikaalin nykytanssin opettajana ja tekijänä. Hän on aiemmin aloittanut mm. dj jamit, joita on järjestetty nyt jo seitsemän vuotta sekä Sokkojamit, joita järjestetään sekä Helsingissä että Berliinissä. Nykyreivit ovat viimeisin uusi ehdotus paremmiksi bileiksi vuonna 2024.

Muutama erityinen huomio:

Näissä jameissa sinut kutsutaan päästämään irti näköaistin kontrollista. Se muuttaa kokemustasi muista, tilasta ja rajoista. Harkitse oletko tähän varmasti valmis. Jameihin on luotu monia keinoja pitämään huolta kaikkien turvallisuudesta, mutta omien rajojen tunnistaminen ja kyky artikuloida niitä sekä kunnioittaa muiden rajoja on oleellista.

Kuvaamme tapahtumassa hieman kuvia ja mahdollisesti videota tulevia tapahtumia varten. Jos et halua, että sinut tunnistetaan kuvista, tule kertomaan siitä dj:lle ja rajaamme sinut pois kuvista.

Nykyreivit toimivat turvallisemman tilan periaatteilla. Tämä tarkoittaa kunnioitusta kaikkia sukupuolia, seksuaalisuuksia, taustoja, kehoja ja kyvykkyyksiä kohtaan. Rasistinen, seksistinen, homofobinen, transfobinen, ableistinen tai muulla tavoin syrjivä kielenkäyttö ja käyttäytyminen tai minkäänlainen häirintä tai ahdistelu ei ole sallittua.

dj vastaa tilassa turvallisuudesta eikä hänellä ole koskaan liian kiire reagoida - ei vaikka olisi kuinka tiukka miksaus käynnissä - koska tämä on tärkeysjärjestyksen kärjessä.

Nykyreiveissä käytetään vaaratonta teatteriusvaa.

Nykyreivit ovat päihteettömät.

Contemporary Rave is a combination of a rave, a dance class and consciousness dancing all over the walls. It’s a rave in a dance studio. It’s consensual touch, the best dance floor in the city and a rave for your 30 best friends that you just don’t know yet.

The night has a precise structure, but you can arrive when you feel like it. Of course the night has been designed as a whole so you will get the most out of it if you journey through it in full. If you arrive later, please note that the beginning of the night is very delicate so do respect other dancers' experience when entering the space.

B E G I N N I N G

20.30 – 21 Entering the space. Selecting the blindfolds. Your own tuning in before beginning together.

D A R K N E S S

21 – 22.30 Dancing blindfolded. We begin in silence, but play music after the quiet tuning in. This sensitizes you to the movement of others, touch and music.

L I G H T

22.30 – 24 Dance with your eyes open. A second tuning in towards the rise of the energy. dj set also lifts the energy higher than in the dj jams.

N E W W O R L D

00 – 00.30 Cooling down in the space without music.

The night is based on gentle somatic exercises, contact improvisation, experiencing the music with your whole body and dancing your brain away in a safer space. You don’t need to have experience about dance, contact improvisation or basically about anything to take part. You do need to read the guidelines of a safer space at the end of this description and follow them.

DJ & FACILITATOR

Samee Haapa (they/them) is an actor FIA, dancer and a dj, who has 20 years of experience in organising alternative clubs and raves and teaching and making radical contemporary dance. They have previously started the dj jam which is now running its seventh year and Blindfold Jam organised in both Helsinki and Berlin. Contemporary Rave is their latest proposal for a better contemporary party in 2024.

Letting go of the control of the sight changes your perception of others, space and boundaries. Please consider whether this is something you’re ready for. There are multiple safety precautions in place to keep everyone safe, but ability to recognize and articulate your own boundaries and respect the boundaries of others is essential.

We'll take some photos and possibly shoot some video in the event. If you'd rather not be seen in these, let the dj know and we'll sort it out.

Contemporary Rave is committed to the principles of safer space. This means respect for all genders, sexualities, backgrounds, bodies and abilities. Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, other oppressive behaviour or harassment is not allowed.

dj is in charge of safety in the space and they are never too busy to react so do feel free to contact them at any point if you have any concerns.

We will use harmless theatre fog in the event.
