Are you ready to dive deeper into pottery? Whether you're an enthusiast or a seasoned potter, our workshop offers an advanced training opportunity in the art of wild clay. From planters to Nepalese-style yogurt bowls, come and explore the diverse applications of unglazed Kultela clay and unleash your artistic potential in a supportive, creative environment.

Workshop Highlights:

Master the Pottery Wheel: Spend Saturday getting hands-on with the wheel, guided by professional artisan ceramist Eva Spoof. Refinement Techniques: Learn trimming and decorative techniques like stamping and engraving on Sunday. Sustainability and Ethics at Heart UDUMBARA Helsinki Pottery proudly uses Finnish native clay and holds a Green Travel Seal certification, aligning with earth-friendly values.

Key Details:

When: Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 2 PM. Where: UDUMBARA_Helsinki Pottery Studio. Languages: English, with Finnish & Swedish understood

Included in the Workshop:

All materials, including up to 20 kg of Kultela clay, to practice on & fire up to a maximum of 8 kg raw clay. Professional guidance and the firing of your creations.

Joining Us Means: Embracing the slow design process— our big kiln only when it is full ca. 4 to 6 weeks. We use solar energy. This choice significantly reduces the carbon footprint associated with pottery making, Contributing to a good cause with unclaimed pottery after 4 months of the shop are sold for donation to the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation or returned to Kultela to be repurposed.

Getting Ready: Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting clay on. Keep nails short and hair secured. Bring your curiosity, persistence and patience!

Artist-Run and Operated: Please familiarize yourself with our refund and cancellation policies outlined in our General Class Information. Your booking confirms your acceptance of these terms.

Refunds and Cancellations: • More than two weeks before the workshop: Refund, minus a €30 admin fee. Within two weeks (but more than three working days) of the workshop: Receive a voucher for another workshop, with a €25 admin fee. Within three working days: Non-refundable, but a medical certificate can provide a 50% voucher or transfer to a friend.
