These sculptures are meant to be living (with plant) and ever-changing.
UDUMBARA green sculptures, made by hand and pottery wheel from wild, red clay from the small village of Kultela in Somero, Southwestern Finland.
The material gives the products a wonderfully rich earthy character. The porous nature of wild earthenware clay makes the sculpture change with time. Part of its beauty is its patina, which tendency to age as they weather and absorb mineral salts from the soil. The color will turn darker with time. By choosing this local raw material, Eva emphasizes local clay's unique and ethical value.
We also pay a little extra for our electricity supplier, so they use solar power as much as our studio & kiln are using energy.
Before you make your purchase, please understand that UDUMBARA is just a small pottery atelier. We do not accept cancellations, exchanges, or returns on our online sales. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
