Have you ever participated in a pottery workshop or had some experience with a pottery wheel? If so, we have a unique advanced training opportunity for you! Join us at UDUMBARA Pottery and delve into the art of creating with wild clay. Whether you're interested in crafting planters, watering pots, lampstands, lampshades, wine coolers, birdhouses, onion or garlic keepers, or traditional Nepalese-style yogurt bowls—perfect for making authentic Nepali yogurt—we have something for everyone. Discover the endless possibilities of working with unglazed local clay and unleash your creativity in countless ways!

Highlights: • Saturday: Master the pottery wheel. • Sunday: Refine your creations with trimming and decoration techniques like stamping and engraving. • Create unglazed planter pots, UDUMBARA's signature products, using locally sourced Kultela wild clay. • Operated sustainably with solar energy, embodying 100% transparency and a touch of Finland. • Special Collaboration: This workshop is in cooperation with Kusal Salta, chef at OMA Maa café, who will organize a course on how to make Nepalese yogurt in clay pots on xx.xx.2024.

Workshop Details:Date and Time: Saturday 11 AM - 4 PM (includes lunch and cleanup); Sunday 11 AM - 2 PM (includes cleanup). • Location: UDUMBARA_Helsinki Pottery Studio. • Languages: English. Osaamme myös suomea, tervetuloa. Vi talar också svenska, välkommen. (We speak Finnish and Swedish.)

What's Included: What's Included: • All materials provided, including up to 30 kg of Kultela clay for practice. • Guidance throughout the entire process. • Firing of up to eight products (maximum of 10 kg of raw clay).

Artist-Run and Operated: Please familiarize yourself with our refund and cancellation policies outlined in our General Class Information. Your booking confirms your acceptance of these terms.

Refunds and Cancellations: • More than two weeks before the workshop: Refund, minus a €30 admin fee. • Within two weeks (but more than three working days) of the workshop: Receive a voucher for another workshop, with a €25 admin fee. • Within three working days: Non-refundable, but a medical certificate can provide a 50% voucher or transfer to a friend.

Additional Workshop Tips: • Dress comfortably in clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty. • Keep nails short to avoid accidental damage. • Secure long hair during the workshop. • Embrace the journey of pottery wheel mastery; patience is key.

The Journey of "Slow Design": Experience the essence of "slow design" with UDUMBARA. Our pottery kiln fires only a few times per season, emphasizing the art's time and patience.

Unclaimed Pottery: Any unclaimed pottery after four months will be repurposed, recycled, or sold, with proceeds donated to the Unicef "Empty Bowls" fund.
