Product description

(Osaamme myös suomea, tervetuloa. Vi talar också Svenska, välkommen).

Welcome to UDUMBARA studio and learn pottery basics in a relaxed atmosphere guided by a professional ceramic artist/artisan (Eva Spoof). Eva will prepare plenty of clay to practice pottery wheel throwing. We will make flowerpots. The first pottery experiments are usually wonky but look cute when you plant something on them. This tutorial is for two hours, a private guided workshop for one person.

The fee includes all materials and preparation ( up to 10 kg). Tuition, finishing, trimming, and firing off four flowerpots. Just so you know, additional participants for the private workshop are welcome to purchase their participation from the webshop ( please, two days in advance so I have time to prepare everything).

Check the available times at https://udumbara.youcanbook.me (copy-paste the link). You must make a full payment with the booking. If you have received a gift card, please use your voucher code to make the payment. You can also pay for our workshops with employee benefits cards (Edenred, Epass, Smartum). For detailed instructions, please visit our blog at udumbara.fi -> blog -> Employee Benefits Vouchers.

When you make your flowerpots in Kultela clay, you don't just get handmade pottery; you also get a piece of Finland.

Please, read this in detail before purchasing. Please note that you accept our policies by buying a booking with us as stated here:

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS, GENERAL CLASS INFORMATION:

Private workshop purchase needs to be booked (https://udumbara.youcanbook.me/ (copy-paste the link) and used within four (4) months from purchase. Tickets are nonrefundable but redeemable for store credit if no booking is made.

Thank you. Working at the studio with Kultela clay is slow design, and pottery's big kiln is only fired a few times per season. It takes time and patience when working with wild clay. It is unpredictable, so we can't guarantee that all your work will make it (through drying firing), but we will do our best and take it very slowly to help the progress. We will inform you with an email when they are ready, so please be patient.

We will not be responsible for unclaimed pottery after two months of being ready, and you have been informed or four months after the workshop.

We will happily send your products to your home; this will be charged postage-free. We will send you a Google calendar workshop invitation when the pots are ready.

Cancellation, No Show & Refund Policies

If you cannot attend your booking, and it's more than five (5) days in advance, we can offer a transfer to another date, a 40 € handling fee for transferring the date one week to the date.
If you cancel within five working days of the start of your workshop, Bookings are non-refundable. If We are presented with a valid medical certificate declaring the participant unfit to attend, We will provide a voucher code for - 50% of the workshop price. We will give no refunds once a workshop has happened. You can pass on your space to a friend.

We will provide a full refund if Udumbara Studio cancels your workshop for any reason.

Please remember that the pottery wheel takes time and patience to master, and many beginners become frustrated early on. The pottery wheel and ceramics studio, in general, can be a dirty, messy place. No matter your precautions, you will have clay on your clothes and shoes. We will provide an apron to help protect your legs from splatter, but please wear clothes you're ok with getting dirty. Wild clay has lots of iron, and it can stain light fabrics. You can easily wash it from dark clothes; it is just mud. It is best to wear old loose-fitting pants. Long nails can cause accidental gouges in the piece you're working on. Nail polish will wear off almost immediately when working with most clays. If you have long hair, plan on having a way to secure it.

Thank You, and Welcome to UDUMBARA.
