A unique, handcrafted planter made from Finnish wild clay in Helsinki.
UDUMBARA wild clay planters are designed to support the natural needs of plants.
The unglazed, porous clay allows moisture to evaporate through the walls of the pot, helping the soil breathe and reducing the risk of overwatering. The natural material also helps moderate changes in soil temperature.
One of the most beautiful qualities of wild clay is how it changes with age. Over time, the surface gradually darkens and develops a unique patina. Mineral salts from the soil and water may also appear on the surface, adding to the planter's natural character.
Ruth No. 25 is individually handmade using 5 kg of Kultela clay and Kiikala sand.
Approximate dimensions:
Width: 25 cm
Height: 16 cm
Each Ruth planter is unique. I measure the weight of the clay rather than making every planter to identical dimensions. Therefore, the shape, size and proportions may vary slightly.
