The Swan of Finland pendant is handmade in Helsinki from 100% Finnish Kultela wild clay. The clay comes from Kultela village in Somero, Finland, and its origin is fully traceable.

The whooper swan is Finland’s national bird. It is also an ancient and powerful symbol in Finnish and Karelian culture, associated with purity, protection and the journey between worlds.

For me, this pendant brings together two powerful elements: Finnish earth and the swan. The natural feel of the clay makes it a small, tangible piece of Finland that you can carry with you.

Kultela clay remains naturally porous after firing. As the pendant is worn and touched, its colour gradually deepens and its surface develops a patina unique to its wearer. Instead of wearing out, it becomes more personal with time – carrying the traces of your life, your touch and, symbolically, a little of you.

Made to be used, touched and passed on, it can one day carry your story to the next generation.

Each pendant is shaped and finished by hand. The colour and surface of the natural clay vary slightly, making every swan unique.
