Product description

Welcome on a foraging walk with the local sauna healer and herbalist Alessandra from Saariston Saunottaja

Discover Northern wild herbs!

We walk along meadows and on moss-covered animal paths in the beautiful nature of the archipelago. You’ll learn about edible plants - local super food - and wild herbs. I’m here to share knowledge and stories about the plants and my experience of working with them. My specialty is of course plants used in the sauna but also how wild herbs can support women’s health.

In Finland we have a freedom called Everyman’s Right. This means foraging is possible for everyone as long as it’s done with respect and care. Everyone can walk in forests, fields and uncultivated natural areas. It’s allowed to pick wild berries, mushrooms, flowers and edible plants – as long as they are not protected species. But with a local guide you make sure you do it the right way and find the right spots were it’s safe to forage.

This is for you if you love wild herbs, the smell of summer grass and want dive into the forest of Finland. You like to get light exercise and spend time outdoors exploring and learning.
