This is a sauna ceremony for a small group that happens once per month. Every month we invite a tree into the sauna and get to know it through stories and myths as well as part of the vihtas. In Finland we say that the sauna is the temple of the forest.

The ceremony starts with greeting the löyly. Then we move through the elements of earth, air, fire and water so that our microcosms can be aligned with the macrocosms.

The ceremony takes place in a very special sauna that takes about five hours to heat. The sauna is protected by a huge ash tree, which creates a special atmosphere to the place. You can feel the stories in the old logs as you enter the sauna. Here time stands still and you can simply land in your own nature and be with your body.

The ceremony takes about 1,5 hours and the whole event takes 2,5 hours. During this time we take several breaks and it’s not hot all the time. We cool down using water and fresh air. We serve a non-alcoholic herbal brew.
