**Program notes: ** This composition started life when I tried to picture how waves of the ocean could sound like. The opening section depicts slow waves, gradually getting faster and slower in repetitive movement. After a dramatic stop the focus shifts on more of a steady pulse in 5/4 time signature, giving way to a trumpet cadenza, aided by few timpani notes. The remaining part of the composition brings a breath of a lighter atmosphere, before the piece ends in gently undulating waves. I want to thank everybody involved in the Creative Repertoire Initiative, and specifically James M. David for providing the six-part template (after the Bocook model).

**Performance notes: ** The composition is divided into six groups + percussion + soloist, and works if even one player is represented from each group. When more players are added into each group, all the balance concerns can be handled by the conductor. The solo part is originally intended for a trumpet, and requires a skillful l player. An alternative part is provided for clarinet. Also alternate parts are provided for euphoniums notated in treble clef at Bb. Percussion part is provided for one player, although can be divided between two players if wanted. This composition is also available for a full concert band.

Grade 4 (except the soloist)
