We will explore the theory of the Five Elements in Chinese Medicine from a very practical perspective, examining:
- How the different elements are reflected in a person’s constitution
- What kind of strengths and weaknesses they bring to health and well-being
- How the different elements are manifested in the physical body as well as on a mental-emotional level
As a homeopath, you will be able to use the knowledge you gain to:
- Gain a deeper understanding of your client’s constitution
- Guide your client more effectively in a way that is approachable and easy to understand for them specifially
- Understand the connections between different body systems, organs, tissues, senses and emotions
- Better comprehend your clients motives, behavior patterns and habits
The course will be conducted in two sessions. In the first session, we will cover the Five Elements theory in general and focus on the Wood and Fire elements. In the second session, we will learn about the Earth, Metal, and Water elements.
No prior knowledge of Chinese Medicine is required. After this course you will never look at the people around you in the same way, welcome!
Taina Alakulppi is a respected practitioner and educator of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), based in Helsinki, Finland. As the co-founder of the Academy of Chinese Medicine in Helsinki, she played a pivotal role in shaping TCM education in Finland up until 2024. Currently, her teaching focuses on providing advanced specialization training for professional acupuncturists.
In her clinical practice, Taina specializes in women’s health and cosmetic treatment techniques. Her expertise is grounded in extensive study and hands-on experience, including postgraduate training at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in China. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma from a joint program between Middlesex University and the Northern College of Acupuncture in the UK, and is a licensed massage therapist.
Taina has held numerous leadership roles in the TCM community, including serving as Chairwoman of Finnacu Ry, board member of Skill Ry, and Secretary of the European Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (ETCMA).
