The 3 Principles for Homeopaths - A New Paradigm for Mental & Emotional Health
What Samuel Hahnemann realised in the late 1790’s created a new paradigm for the entire field of medicine. What Sydney Banks realised in the early 1970’s created a new paradigm for the entire mental health field. In both cases, these discoveries enabled a radically different approach to healing that brought about spectacular results, even in cases considered ‘incurable’ within the mainstream medical community.
Homeopaths have successfully adapted their prescribing methods to address modern day challenges such as pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines and environmental toxicity. What remains as an even bigger challenge I would argue is the number one maintaining cause and obstacle to cure in the Western world - chronic mental stress. The habitual innocent misuse of the mind is now so widespread that it is largely invisible to us. And we homeopaths are just as likely to experience our own version of ’stress’ as our clients, because we all share the same misunderstanding about how the mind works.
After 15 years of regular homeopathic practice and a further 10 years specialising in mental & emotional health, the 3 Principles discovered by Sydney Banks was the missing piece of the puzzle that completely transformed my approach, and took the impact of my work to a whole new level. What I had previously experienced as the ‘difficult’ people to work with suddenly became a whole lot easier, not just in my work but in my life!
I realised that if this simple understanding was a standard part of homeopathic training, it would transform the experience of practitioners as well as enabling powerful psychological healing capabilities for their clients that would complement beautifully the action of well-prescribed remedies.
This is an understanding that unburdens and empowers you first, restoring your natural confidence so that you can practice with ease and enjoyment. Subsequently, you will find opportunities to share your understanding with clients as and when it is appropriate so that they will benefit from it too. And as you help your clients’ minds to settle down, the remedy pictures become clearer and your prescribing becomes easier and more accurate. It’s a virtuous cycle!
Seminar price also includes "Tao of Homeopathy", a two hour zoom session recorded April 9th 2024, as an introduction.
Ian Watson began studying homeopathy, herbs and flower essences as a teenager in the late 1970’s.. He subsequently trained and graduated from the College of Homeopathy in London in 1988. He ran a busy group practice in Cumbria for many years and became established as a lecturer at various homeopathic schools in the UK and overseas. He co-founded The Lakeland College in 1993 which he ran together with Anne Waters until 2003. He wrote and published four books including A Guide to the Methodologies of Homeopathy and The Tao of Homeopathy.
Ian has a lifelong interest in personal transformation, and he studied and practiced a wide variety of psychological and emotional healing disciplines from 2002 onwards. These included Journey Process work, Emotional Freedom Technique, Shen Physio-emotional Release Therapy, Jungian psychology, Byron Katie work, family constellations and Hakomi technique. In 2011 he was introduced to the Three Principles paradigm discovered by Sydney Banks, and this psycho-spiritual understanding has been the foundation of his work ever since.
In 2013 Ian founded The Insight Space as a vehicle for his educational and training programmes. He has been invited to share his understanding in schools, with healthcare professionals and in organisations including Samsung, Discovery Channel and the Pret Foundation. Whilst no longer offering individual homeopathic consultations, Ian continues to support homeopathic students and practitioners in learning how to practice with ease and confidence in a way that is simple, authentic and effective.
