In this 6-hour directed rehearsal, we will introduce you to the language, themes, characters and stories of the Film Noir genre. We then use these tropes to explore the world of Crimeopolis through a variety of montages of 2-person scenes, group games, and tag runs. We’ll meet the people who live here, hear their stories, and follow them as they navigate through a town where you can’t trust anyone, and your only friend is a bottle of whiskey.
This directed ensemble culminates in a 30-minute showcase on the TIMF Stage on Saturday evening after the workshop.
Players should wear dark slacks/skirts, dress shoes, white dress shirts/blouses, and bring any period costume pieces (trench coats, fedora/trillby hats, silk scarves, etc) they may have for the performance.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
"For a long time Trent's entire life centered around improv - which he's been doing for over 20 years.
And for a while, he made his living performing, teaching, and producing shows and workshops across the globe.
These days, Trent mostly just plays on stage with JadaJada Improv once a month. But he's excited to dust off his notebook and don his director's fedora to bring his show Crimeopolis back to life in Tampere for one night!
According to those who know him best, he is playful, energetic, and incredibly supportive in the classroom, on the stage, and at home."
