During this weekend-long workshop you will dive deep into your own voice and yourself…to find the magic and transformational power of sound...through an ancient vocal tradition from India; Dhrupad. You will gain a foundational understanding of Dhrupad singing, learning the core elements that create the distinct Dhrupad sound - voice, syllables, tonal modulation, rhythm, and pronunciation. You will explore the concept of sound in time and delve into the traditional Dhrupad approach to unfolding a raga (melody).
No prior experience is necessary! This is a rare opportunity to get introduced to this beautiful and transformational tradition by someone deeply cultured in it, while immersing yourself into your own voice and consciousness.
